Respected Prof. Dr Ram Karan Singh Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University, Dehradun. He has done degrees, B.E. (Hons.) Civil Engineering, M.E. in Civil Engineering (with specialisation in Hydraulics Engineering) and PhD in the area of Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering from a premier University, BITS-Pilani, Pilani, India. 

He has over 30 years of teaching, research, administrative, and consultancy experience in top institutions & universities in India (17 years) and abroad (13 years). He worked in various top academic & administrative positions during the tenure of his work. He is a fellow member of various national and international educational, research and administrative professional societies.

Prof. Singh was awarded by JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Post-Doctoral Fellowship from 2002 to 2004. He is the recipient of over 15 top national and international academic and research awards. He has developed and taught over 50 different courses in the graduate, postgraduate and pre-PhD classes and supervised 100 above Master's degree thesis and 15 PhD degree thesis. Presently, there is five on-going PhD work under his supervision. He has over 150 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.

Prof. Singh has authored five books to his credit. He has binational and international published patents. Out of that, four international patents are granted in the latest thrust areas of engineering and technology. He has experience working for national and international quality accreditations, including ABET accreditation in the USA. He has visited all significant continents, including the USA, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Africa, and the Middle  East countries on research, teaching and collaborative assignments as a research fellow and professor for over a decade. He has organised five international conferences with national and international financial support. He also chaired various sessions and did panel discussions in various national and international seminars, invited talks and guest lectures, FDP and Keynote addresses.

Prof. Singh has completed several national and international research projects as a Principal investigator funded by DST Govt of India, GTZ Germany, SNV Netherland, JSPS Japan, UNESCO, IUSSTF, UKIERI etc. His future commitment is to give the top leadership role through the institutional building as an educationist, research and academic activities and academic policies at the national level through his vast national and international, diverse experience and peer relations.
